Slice Of Life Challenge 3/16

This is a song I wrote about soil. It is not amazing. But keep in mind while you are reading it, that it is about dirt so it wasn't extremely easy to write.

Soil is a critical part of an ecosystem
It provides nutrients, uh uh uh uh
Soil is made up of a bunch of different things
Both living and nonliving uh uh uh uh.
Like, water, air, sand, clay, silt, rocks, and organic matter
Are some nonliving parts oh yeah
These things mix together to create the base for soil, oh yah uh oh

Imagine a worm named Bert squirming through the dirt
Breaking up tightly packed particles so that the soil works.
Humans use the soil too, we use it to make food
Thanks to soil we can have a bunch of different food to eat

Living things are also a big part
Of a soil’s ecosystem, they help fertilize  uh uh, uh uh
Animals plants and fungi
All are part of soil, they help make it what it is uh uh
Algae, mites, ants, earthworms, and bacteria
Are some living parts oh yeah
These things mix together to help soil, live on uh oh

Imagine a worm named Bert squirming through the dirt
Breaking up tightly packed particles so that the soil works.
Humans use the soil too, we use it to make food
Thanks to soil we can have a bunch of different food to eat

Soil diversity can change
Throughout different biomes
Based on different things
Like the weather conditions
It can effect the moisture
Of the soil uh oh oh yeah

Imagine a worm named Bert squirming through the dirt
Breaking up tightly packed particles so that the soil works.
Humans use the soil too, we use it to make food
Thanks to soil we can have a bunch of different food to eat

  1. It was an interesting song, but it gives me painful memories of the soil project.
